Weather And Safety Concerns Force Cancellation Of WoO Race April 6
CALISTOGA, CA (April 5, 2013) – Due to the weather conditions that have adversely affected the work being done to renovate the track, the World of Outlaws and Calistoga Speedway have reluctantly decided to cancel the upcoming race on Saturday, April 6.
Volunteers have been working continuously for nearly a month to restore the track to its optimum racing condition in order to provide safe, competitive, and entertaining events, which our fans have come to expect in Calistoga. Unfortunately, the untimely rains this past week, which continue off and on, have delayed the progress.
“We are very disappointed. We have been looking forward to debuting the renovated track. We’ve all put a lot of effort into this, but our emphasis has been, and continues to be, providing safe and entertaining events, which is impossible to do at this time,” said Tommy Hunt, operations manager for Calistoga Speedway.
Fans will now get their first chance see the track renovations at our Wine Country Classic 360 race on Saturday, June 22. Stay tuned at www.CalistogaSpeedway.org for more information.
